The GMC Sierra is a solid pickup truck, available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab styles.
All three cab variations are available in four different trims and two bed lengths. A wide range of engines is available: 195-horsepower, 4.3-liter V6; 285-hp, 4.8-liter V8; 295-hp, 5.3-liter V8 and 345-hp, 6.0-liter V8.
Braking is adequate, and fit and finish are unimpressive. The powertrain isn't as smooth as of the competing models. Selectable, full-time, four-wheel-drive system and a generous load capacity are on the Sierra's benefit side. | | | GMC Sierra Strengths Cargo capacity, roomy cabs, innovative features, full-time four-wheel-drive system, quietness, strong V8. | |
| | GMC Sierra Weaknesses Turning circle, fit and finish, safety-belt comfort, low-grade interior materials. |
